Does overcoming physical barriers automatically mean more inclusion? Where are the risks and ethical concerns in contexts of social inequality? How can scientific findings be profitably applied?
The role of communication technologies for peace is a relevant question for research and practice. The dialogue panel “ICT4Peace” of the Research Center “Transformations of Political Violence” connects scientists and practioners and takes place as part of the scientific conference “Science. Peace. Security 2023” on September 21, 2023 (4-6pm) at TU Darmstadt and will be streamed live on YouTube.
Moderated by Prof. Dr Markus Lederer (TU Darmstadt, TraCe), the panel brings together experts working in research and practice of peacebuilding to discuss the needs and challenges of digital peacebuilding:
- Laura Guntrum | PEASEC TU Darmstadt, TraCe
- Fabian Hofmann | Geneva Graduate Institute
- Julia-Silvana Hofstetter | ICT4Peace Foundation
- Charles Martin-Shields | German Institute of Development and Sustainability
- Nina Strumpf | Berghof Foundation
The dialogue panel is free of charge, all civil society actors and citizens are warmly welcome to join in person. Registration is not compulsory, but will help us organize the event. We would be happy to welcome many interested practitioners to join the discussion in person or to follow via livestream.
